I requested a withdrawal and have been…

I requested a withdrawal and have been waiting for over 2 weeks. I can't get support to respond to emails and the phone number doesn't work. They even rejected the merchant who paid the most because of the way they run their business. Don't believe all the good reviews you see here. They've hired people to create good things about them, even though they know they're terrible. I would take this opportunity to alert potential traders of my unfortunate encounter with this platform if it wasn't. They solved the problem easily thanks to the intervention of ꍟꀎ꓄ꃅꌗ.ꉓ꒒ꂦꀎꀸ I found a commercial website that clearly proved its fraudulent nature. It is extremely important that individuals considering using this platform exercise extreme vigilance and avoid becoming victims of its deceptive tactics.

Slow Transactions

CIT is a decent bank. I think the thing that makes it so frustrating is just the slow pace at which it transfers money from one account to another, especially from outside banks. It takes roughly 2 WEEKS to transfer in a chunk of money from another external, already verified bank account. Unbelievably ridiculously slow. SoFI takes 2 to 3 days! Kind of outweighs the higher interest rate CIT pays… they put a weeklong hold on the money, even after it’s been verified and removed from my other bank account.

A specialist at CIT Bank that went above & beyond!

My wife and I owe a great deal to Ms. Silvia Murillo, a banking specialist of CIT Bank at the Pasadena location in California. We first contacted CIT Bank customer service by phone on 4/27/23 asking for help in retrieving our large sum of money that was transferred from CIT Bank to the CITI Bank in February. After 2 months of fighting with people at the CITI bank, we were so frustrated and exhausted because they were doing all tricks to hold on to our money. We were so desperate, and at first a representative at CIT Bank did not know how to provide the support, until Ms. Murillo voluntarily jumped in to help. She spent a great deal of her own time dealing and pressuring the CITI bank until they finally agreed to return our money. We sincerely cannot thank her enough for her professionalism and compassion! CIT Bank is fortunate in having her as personnel in the organization. She is one of a kind! Many and many thanks, Ms. Silva Murillo!!

Beware!

Have chosen not to renew a CD. After 10 days I have not received my money. When I call I get a different answer. They had no problem withdrawing money from a external account but can't deposit my money back into an external account. Please beware chose a local bank with a branch office.

The worst customer service I have ever…

The worst customer service I have ever experienced with any bank, in person or online. It was such a fiasco trying to set up a savings account with 2 reps giving me the wrong information, plus closing the very account i had set up and kept waiting for the micro deposits. On the fourth call, to find out where the microdeposits were is when to my shock the account was wrongly closed. Plus, one rep was so rude and impatient with my questions! If their reps are this inept, I don't want my money there. I don't care how good the interest rate is. Lastly, when i asked to speak with a supervisor, I was kept on hold. I eventually hung up, which is probably what they wanted me to do.

CIT has been my go-to bank for both personal and business banking needs. Their dedication to empowering businesses and personal savers is evident in their range of financial products and services. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to assist. I highly recommend CIT for anyone seeking a bank that truly understands their financial goals.

Not a bad experience

Not a bad experience, but not great either. The website can be very confusing, especially to pay an invoice or set up autopay of regular monthly payments due. You have to set up another login to a linked website called "payconnexion" in order to pay items. You can't get to payconnexion directly, you can only get there by logging in to CIT and then clicking the link within that site in the payment area. Really weird, clunky, and old-school in my opinion. And, then, payconnexion is not very clear sometimes on how it is processing a payment. I've overpaid a couple of times because it reads one way but acts another. Hopefully with CIT turning into First Citizens Bank things will improve for the website and payments.

Be prepared for an ordeal trying to set up the Platinum Savings account. I am going on a month now and they still do not have my account setup. They claim their review team is backed up.....well, hire more people - Hello? And once they finally get the account set up we still need to go through the trial deposits process which will require even more time.
On a semi-positive note, their customer service is US based and has been courteous and professional on my multiple calls to try and get my account set up.
Just an FYI that they are super SLOW!

Do not use if not in California

Do not purchase a CD if you are not in California. Very difficult to work with if you want to change. Must use CA documents even if you have legal documents from your state!

Sign up for Platinum Savings

Updated review..After a few more tries and help from 3 CIT Customer Service agents I was able to finally sign up for the Platinum Savings Account. Hoping there are no more sign in issues and that the money transfer goes smoothly, for the 4.85% APY.

Bumpy Start

Someone entered our billing information from our contract incorrectly, so we didn't receive our first invoices and incurred late fees. Aside from that, our experience as been positive so far.

Stay Away

Stay Away! (review after 5 months of using)
Ive been online banking for over a decade. This is by far the worst online banking experience ever.
Terrible phone app and even worse desktop experience with either Windows or Apple desktop.
The savings rate is great, the checking account function is, well, dysfunctional.
Calling the bank, messaging the bank tech support is totally useless. They are clueless, some downright obnoxious, believe other comments, it really is kind of scary that a USA bank can be so dysfunctional.

I am shocked that CITBANK is a division of First Citizens Bank.

Summary: If you want a great savings rate this is for you, it involves putting up with dysfunctional software and apps but doable.
If you want their online checking? Dont make that mistake.

Too little too late.

Let me say if your goal is to send out reminders they need to be more timely and in our case received the same way we receive our invoices which in our case is email. Also the email needs to have a direct reply to a person or a department that understands your account. A phone contact to that same person should be included in case a conversation needs to happen . I would suggest said person should be pleasant and not arrogant.

NO SERVICE customer service.

Customer service hung up on me as I was explaining what I wanted. I was trying to open a high yield savings account.

After reading the reviews I'm very fortunate NOT to have opened a savings account.

Online Banking Lacks Information

CIT's online banking needs more details to satisfy its customers. I opened a No Penalty CD and requested for funds to be pulled from an external account. Account opened Tuesday, funds pulled from external account the next day, Wednesday. However, when I checked online, no information on the transaction was available. I called the 855 number, and customer service said it'll be available on screen the following day, Thursday. It is now Thursday, 6:00 pm. I still see $0.00 balance. Where is my money?

Terrible way of doing business

Terrible way of doing business! Let me explain... After COVID, when a lot of banks lowered your APY rates down to what they saw fit, after being up in the 3.0-3.75 range, they took down to a normal bank, like .20, or similar. Well, when they finally jumped these rates back up, instead of AUTOMATICALLY taking your account back up, like they took DOWN, they waited for you to find out on your own, and then they tell you they've "added" new savings accounts with higher APY's, and yours doesn't qualify anymore. Do you see what they're doing here?! They will add another "name" to a savings account, and give potential new comers they EYE CANDY of higher APY's than other banks, but change this every other year on you, so when you're looking back 5 years ago or 10 years ago, thinking you were leaving money sitting and collecting, WRONG. Think again and switch your accounts over. TERRIBLE way of doing business. So disappointed.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME - Is this even a real bank? I'm 58 years old with an 800 credit score and no blemishes on any record anywhere. I applied online and was turned down with no explanation. I called their "customer service" phone number 855-462-2652 and was read a statement that said I was turned down because they were unable to verify some aspect of my identity. Which, ok. But no solution was offered, no "sorry," no nothing except "goodbye." So just replace the "C" with an "SH" and say goodbye to CIT Bank. Yuck

I tried to set up an online CIT account…

I tried to set up an online CIT account for their high-yield savings account but was rejected, I have stellar credit (over 800), no debt and cash to invest. I'm 63 years-old and it's the first time in my life I've been turned down by a bank (especially since I was just attempting to set up an account). I called as I thought it could be a system glitch, but the representative came back with a canned response. I laughed at situation and told them I will be going elsewhere. What a disappointment they are.

DO NOT ASSUME, ASK!

As new customers, we had good service expectations, but unfortunately, when we signed up for a lease for a office printer, no one asked us if we had liability coverage. CIT "assumed" that we did not, so it included insurance through Assurance. It took three months to return the money that was added to our invoice and correct this error; let alone having to argue with Assurance and CIT all three months until resolved. We are still waiting for at least and apology, but I guess that is too much to ask.

Customer Service

The customer service provided on the phone was excellent. They were extremely helpful and courteous. However, I sent two emails to customer service the 2 weeks prior to me calling and I never received a reply. Email response got 1 star and phone response got 5 stars so cumulative is 3 stars.
